For first-time delegates

Never been to MUN? You're exactly who this is for.

Most college-circuit conferences quietly price out beginners. KnightMUN does the opposite. We built this for the kid who's curious, nervous, and reading this page right now.

How Model UN Actually Works

A clear walkthrough of committee flow, speeches, and resolutions for first-time delegates.

Half our delegates are first-timers

KnightMUN was built for kids who've never been to a conference. You will not be the only beginner in your committee — that's the design.

We teach you before you arrive

Background guides drop October 3rd. Our beginner workshop covers procedure, position papers, and what to actually say when you raise your placard.

Awards are about growth, not polish

Best Delegate at KnightMUN goes to the delegate who moved the conversation forward — not the loudest voice in the room.

Committee sessions are no-tech

During delegation committee sessions, phones, laptops, and tablets stay away unless a chair or staff member gives a specific exception. Bring printed notes, paper, and pens.

How to prepare

Four steps. That's the whole thing.

01

Read the background guide

Released Oct 3rd. ~20 pages per committee. Skim the topic intro, then read your country's section twice.

02

Write a position paper

One page. Three sections: your country's history with the topic, your stance, what you'd propose. Due Oct 14th.

03

Learn the basics of procedure

Motions, points, speaker's lists. Our beginner workshop covers all of it in 20 minutes.

04

Show up ready to talk

Saturday Oct 17th, arrive 8:15–8:45 a.m. at North Penn HS. We feed you breakfast. You'll be fine.
