Terms of participation.

Shared rules for everyone, plus role-specific agreements for delegates, advisors, and chairs.

Last updated: June 17, 2026

These terms apply to everyone who registers for, attends, staffs, advises, chairs, observes, or otherwise participates in KnightMUN. By using the KnightMUN website, portals, forms, emails, passes, or any conference materials, you accept the shared terms below and the section that matches your role.

1 · Shared terms for everyone

Accurate information

All registration, roster, form, and account information must be accurate, current, authorized, and complete. Submitting false information may result in cancellation of registration.

Respect & safety

Every participant must behave respectfully and safely toward delegates, chairs, advisors, staff, volunteers, press, venue personnel, and guests. Harassment, discrimination, threats, bullying, slurs, cheating, unsafe conduct, disruption, alcohol, drugs, weapons, or violation of school or venue rules may result in removal, loss of awards, denied refunds, and notice to a school or guardian.

Conference decisions

Committee and country assignments, awards, schedules, topics, rooms, deadlines, resources, background guides, paper requirements, passes, and portal access may be changed, corrected, delayed, denied, or finalized by KnightMUN as needed to run the conference.

Media & photography

Photos, video, audio, names, school names, awards, and event materials may be captured and published for conference operations, archives, the website, social media, promotional, educational, or press purposes — unless KnightMUN receives and confirms a reasonable opt-out request before the event where practical.

Website & portals

Do not misuse the website or portals: no false submissions, scraping, attacks, sharing of private portal links, bypassing permissions, unsafe uploads, or interference with conference operations.

Privacy

Personal information is handled under the KnightMUN privacy policy and may be used for registration, forms, email, assignments, meals, safety, check-in, rosters, records, and event operations.

Liability

KnightMUN, North Penn School District, host and partner schools, students, advisors, chairs, volunteers, and organizers are not responsible for lost property, travel, lodging, outside expenses, outages, schedule changes, weather, school decisions, attendee misconduct, third-party services, or circumstances beyond reasonable control. Participation is at the attendee's and school's own responsibility, subject to school rules and Pennsylvania law.

For delegates

Students attending as committee delegates agree to:

  • Represent your assigned country or character in good faith and follow your chairs' rulings and parliamentary procedure.
  • Complete required forms (code of conduct, medical, photo release) and submit position papers by the posted deadlines.
  • Do your own research and writing. Plagiarism or AI-generated position papers submitted as your own may forfeit awards and eligibility.
  • Keep your delegate account, digital pass, and portal links private — they are tied to you personally.
  • Stay with your delegation, follow your advisor's and the venue's supervision rules, and remain in assigned areas during the conference.
  • Accept that committee assignments, country assignments, awards, and chair decisions are final once published.

For advisors & teachers

Faculty advisors registering a school delegation agree to:

  • Have your school's authorization to register, and to act as the responsible adult for your delegation before, during, and after the conference.
  • Supervise your delegates, arrange transportation, and secure any parent or guardian permissions required by your school or law.
  • Keep your roster accurate — add, substitute, or withdraw delegates through the advisor portal by the posted deadlines.
  • Coordinate payment for your delegation. Fees, partner-school and access-code rates, invoices, and check instructions follow KnightMUN deadlines and verification.
  • Review and confirm each delegate's dietary and medical information for safety, and approve delegates where the portal requires it.
  • Understand that after food, materials, and assignments are committed, refunds may be reduced or unavailable per the refund policy.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between your delegation and KnightMUN.

For chairs & secretariat

Students and staff serving as committee chairs or secretariat agree to:

  • Run committee fairly, impartially, and professionally, applying the rules of procedure consistently to all delegates.
  • Prepare your committee materials — background guides, topics, and updates — and meet secretariat deadlines.
  • Judge awards on merit only. No favoritism toward a school, friend, or home program, and no sharing of award outcomes before the official reveal.
  • Keep delegate information, position papers, scores, and contact details confidential and use them only for your chairing duties.
  • Maintain appropriate conduct and boundaries with delegates at all times, and report any safety or conduct concerns to secretariat or staff immediately.
  • Follow secretariat direction; chair assignments and committee structure may be adjusted by KnightMUN as needed.

Full combined agreement

By registering for, attending, volunteering at, staffing, advising, chairing, observing, photographing, participating in, or otherwise using KnightMUN, the KnightMUN website, portals, forms, emails, passes, rosters, schedules, resources, or conference materials, you agree on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, your school, delegation, student, child, attendee, or organization to all KnightMUN terms, policies, rules, deadlines, forms, privacy practices, registration requirements, conduct standards, payment expectations, refund rules, media permissions, safety requirements, assignment decisions, portal rules, digital pass rules, website rules, and administrative decisions together as one complete agreement. KnightMUN is intended for high-school Model United Nations participation and related school-supervised activities. Registration information must be accurate, authorized, and complete. Advisors are responsible for their delegations, student supervision, school approval, roster accuracy, payment coordination, transportation, parent or guardian permissions where needed, and communication with KnightMUN. Delegate fees, discounts, partner-school rates, access-code rates, invoices, check instructions, substitutions, withdrawals, and refunds are subject to KnightMUN deadlines and verification; after food, materials, assignments, or conference logistics are committed, refunds may be reduced or unavailable. All participants must behave respectfully and safely toward delegates, chairs, advisors, staff, volunteers, visitors, press, venue personnel, and other guests. Harassment, discrimination, threats, bullying, slurs, cheating, unsafe conduct, disruption, alcohol, drugs, weapons, misuse of technology, unauthorized access, impersonation, or violation of school or venue rules may result in removal, loss of awards, cancellation of registration, denial of refund, and notice to a school or guardian. Committee assignments, country assignments, chair decisions, awards, schedules, topics, rooms, deadlines, resources, forms, background guides, position-paper requirements, press access, volunteer assignments, digital passes, check-in status, and portal access may be changed, corrected, delayed, denied, or finalized by KnightMUN when needed to operate the conference. Photos, video, audio, names, school names, awards, assignments, press content, and event materials may be captured or published for conference operations, archives, website, social media, promotional, educational, or press purposes unless KnightMUN receives and confirms a reasonable opt-out request before the event where practical. Users agree not to misuse the website, submit false information, scrape or attack systems, share private portal links, bypass permissions, upload unsafe files, or interfere with conference operations. Personal information is handled under the KnightMUN privacy policy and may be used for registration, forms, email, assignments, meals, safety, check-in, rosters, records, administration, and event operations. KnightMUN, North Penn School District, host schools, partner schools, students, advisors, chairs, volunteers, administrators, and related organizers are not responsible for lost property, travel, transportation, lodging, outside expenses, internet outages, schedule changes, weather, school decisions, attendee misconduct, third-party services, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Participation is at the attendee's and school's own responsibility, subject to applicable school rules and Pennsylvania law. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. KnightMUN may update these terms, and continued registration, attendance, portal use, or participation means acceptance of the updated terms. Questions should be sent to nphs.knightmun@gmail.com.
